I wrote this a few weeks ago, and I kept thinking to myself that I should upload this at the right time. But I don't know when the right time is, and I'm sick of waiting. I even contemplated posting this at 12:00 midnight.
Things I learned while writing this poem:
.) lightning often strikes the same place twice.
.) the odds of being struck by lightning is 1 in 1,107,143, and yet Roy Sullivan was a man who was struck by lightning 8 times.
.) Venus has thunderstorms; Saturn has lightning.
.) there is currently a hurricane on Jupiter, and it has lasted for more than 300 years.
.) the monks used to ring their bells when the storms came, thinking it would fend off the evil spirits.
.) aztecs believed a person died every time lightning struck.
.) there is such a thing as ball lightning.
.) the greeks used to believe a pearl was created every time lightning struck the ocean.
.) a single hurricane has more power than 10 atomic bombs.
.) lightning and thunderstorms are more common in the tropics.
